A music project by Cameron Lew, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and visual artist from Southern California.
In 2017, while still a student, he released music described as “aggressive elevator soul” and gained attention through popular cover videos on YouTube, marking the beginning of his full-scale activities as Ginger Root.
He handles everything himself—from songwriting, recording, mixing, and mastering—while also creating artwork and videos from scratch, drawing on his experience studying filmmaking in college.
He released his first album Mahjong Room in 2018, followed by Rikki in 2020, and the Japan culture–inspired EP City Slicker in 2021.
In Japan, all 4 shows of his January 2023 tour sold out. His popularity continued to grow, culminating in a six-show Zepp tour in 2025 in support of his latest album Shinbangumi.
COMMENT
I’ve been an anime fan since I was little, so being given the opportunity to create the ending theme for an anime is truly overwhelming.
I’ve always loved the works of Kyoto Animation, and while there were many challenges in producing the ending theme, I composed the song while thinking about the story’s themes, the characters’ emotions, and the worldview setting of the title.
As a musician involved in the music for this project and also as an anime fan, I’m really looking forward to the broadcast of Sparks of Tomorrow!
